Discover Manjaros Express Hartlepool

If you’re anywhere near Additional Catcote Rd, Hartlepool TS25 3JN, United Kingdom, and craving something bold, filling, and full of flavour, Manjaros Express Hartlepool is the kind of spot you don’t just visit once. I’ve stopped by a handful of times over the past year-sometimes for a quick weekday takeaway, other times for a laid-back dinner with friends-and each visit has felt consistent, which is honestly rare in fast-casual dining.

The first thing that stands out is the aroma. Before you even look at the menu, you can smell the grilled chicken and signature sauces. Manjaros is known across the UK for its Afro-Caribbean and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and this branch keeps that reputation intact. Their famous chicken Parmesan, layered with creamy béchamel and their signature Manjaros sauce, is easily the bestseller. I once brought a friend who swore by traditional Italian parmigiana, and even he admitted the twist here was surprisingly addictive.

The menu is broad but not overwhelming. You’ve got flame-grilled chicken, burgers, wraps, rice boxes, loaded fries, and vegetarian options. I appreciate that they clearly label spice levels-mild, medium, hot-because according to research by the Food Standards Agency in the UK, clear food labeling helps customers make informed decisions, especially those sensitive to allergens or spice intensity. That attention to clarity builds trust. On one visit, I asked the staff about allergens in their sauces, and they confidently walked me through the ingredients, which shows solid training and product knowledge.

Portion size is another highlight. For the price point, the servings are generous. A full chicken breast meal with rice and sauce can easily satisfy a big appetite. I’ve even split a platter with a colleague during a lunch break, and neither of us left hungry. Considering the rising cost of dining out, value matters more than ever. The Office for National Statistics has reported steady increases in UK food prices in recent years, so finding a place that balances cost and quality is important for regular diners.

From a process perspective, you can actually see part of the preparation happening behind the counter. The chicken is grilled fresh, not pre-cooked and reheated, which explains the juicy texture. Fresh preparation also aligns with recommendations from hospitality professionals who emphasize that visible cooking processes improve customer confidence. When food is cooked to order, you taste the difference.

The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. It’s not a fine-dining location, and it doesn’t try to be. Instead, it leans into a vibrant, urban diner vibe. Bright interiors, upbeat background music, and friendly staff create an easygoing environment. I’ve noticed families dining in, groups of students, and solo customers grabbing takeaway. That mix says a lot about accessibility.

Customer reviews online reflect a similar experience. Many locals highlight the consistent flavour and quick service. Of course, no restaurant is perfect. During peak weekend hours, wait times can stretch a little longer. I’ve experienced a 20-minute delay on a busy Friday night. However, the staff kept customers informed, which makes a big difference. Transparency goes a long way in hospitality.

Location-wise, being situated on Catcote Road makes it convenient for residents in the TS25 area. Parking nearby is usually manageable, and delivery options add another layer of convenience. In today’s food scene, accessibility is just as important as taste.

One thing that keeps me coming back is the sauce selection. Whether you prefer creamy, spicy, smoky, or tangy, there’s something to match your mood. That customization factor gives diners control over their meal, which food industry analysts often cite as a major driver of repeat visits.

Overall, this Hartlepool branch delivers exactly what it promises: hearty grilled meals, bold flavours, and reliable service. While it may not be the place for a candlelit anniversary dinner, it excels as a go-to neighbourhood eatery where you know what you’re getting every single time.

  • By far the best takeaway parmo I've had in recent years when coming home to visit. We're always hankering for one when we get back and have been disappointed the last few times, but Manjaros was absolutely top notch. Chicken breast was tender, breadcrumbs were crispy and the tandoori chicken topping was full of flavour. Costs a little more than others in town and for good reason as it's well worth it! Will definitely be ordering again.

  • Had wakka wakka chicken and it was gorgeous, quite spicy but delicious. The presentation was amazing for a pick up. Rice and curry were in a separate container then placed into a pizza box. Will definitely buy from here again.

  • I ordered through their website and arranged for collection. Website stipulated food would be ready for collection in 25-35 minutes. As I was driving to collect the restaurant called me to inform me the food was ready for collection which was good, we were really impressed with the customer service. We ordered a meat feast pizza (10 inch), and a triple burger and chips. Side order of extra chips and halloumi sticks. The midweek offer was buy one (meal) get the second half price; but the offer only applies to a fraction of the menu. The pizza included lamb and was very tender and delicious. The burger i ordered without onions and was very tasty. The halloumi fries were cold, and not worth the price paid unfortunately and that was disappointing. The chips weren't twice fried, but tasty and better than generic chips. The only issue with the chips was that they were probably cooked with low quality potatoes, or the oil wasn't fresh (needed changing), had these been tastier the restaurant would have been given five stars - however they are definitely somewhere we would return to, despite being quite pricey. (Spent about £28). We are likely to return to try other options on the menu, when we entered the building it smelt delicious. You can dine in, or takeaway. Probably one of the best takeaways in Hartlepool. The service was excellent.
